The rod was exactly as advertised. You must also buy 2 end caps. The total cost for all 3 pieces was about $160-170 for the chrome finish, which I thought was rather high. But the quality was very high (they were surprisingly heavy, perfectly finished, and incredibly well wrapped and boxed). This was one of the few places I could find a straight rod in a variety of finishes that did not have a seam in the middle and relied on spring-loaded pressure to keep it up (i.e. it has to be cut to length and physically mounted). I had my contractor cut the rod to length and mount the end caps into porcelain tiled walls. With the right tools and experience and some patience, a do-it-yourselfer could cut and mount this (but that's not me). It looks great up and will definitely not be falling down any time soon (unlike those pressure-mounted rods which fall down all the time and are worthless; trust me,I have 1st hand experience). Nothing good comes cheap or goes up easy.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
